Baby Senna was 10 months old when he came to my Melbourne studio for his baby photography and this sweet little guy was already well and truly on the move.
The ideal time to photograph an older baby in the studio is when they are comfortably sitting (but not yet crawling). In saying that, there are many tricks we can use to entertain and distract crawling babies as well.
Babies of this age are curious and exploratory. They love music and colour and will reward you with dazzling eye contact, smiles, and a plethora of playful expressions.
They also grow waaaaaaaay too fast.
One minute they are learning to roll from left to right or right to left. And then, before you know it they are sitting, crawling, standing, walking and running.
It never feels like it is going that fast, but month by month your beautiful baby is morphing into a new version of themselves. And often when we are with them all the time we don’t even notice that it’s happening.
So definitely don’t put off having professional photos taken just because you think your baby is the wrong age. Every age is the perfect age. And every age is precious.
