This delicious blue-eyed (half French/half Australian) beauty belongs to my dear friend and fellow photographer, Julie Abreu.

Julie is Melbourne based documentary photographer and videographer who offers raw and unposed Maternity, Birth, Newborn and Family sessions.

And of course Julie speaks French! German and English too. All of which is completely amazing to me! (Despite having a German Dad and learning Japanese for something like 4 years, I can only speak English with an Aussie twang and a few variations of tired, cranky, and strung out Mum).

Darling Phoebe started sitting unassisted a few weeks ago so it was the perfect time to book in for her Natural Studio Baby session. A wonderful opportunity to document her sweet little character, as well as, all of her delightful baby squish before she moves onto the next age and stage.

And what a curious and delightful little monkey she was.

What are Studio Baby Sessions?

Studio baby sessions are ideal for babies who are sitting but not yet crawling (generally 7-10 months) but are also an option for babies that are older than 3 months. They are perfect for those families who may have missed the window for Newborn Photography but still want to capture beautiful memories while their baby is still relatively tiny and new .

I also cater for crawling babies, although as you know – or soon will, babies at this stage of development are B.US.Y.  This just means that it may take a little more distraction and creativity to keep those little souls interested BUT it is totally worth it (just wait until you see the photos from baby Senna’s studio session – gaaaaaah!!).

Regardless of where your baby is at, all of this magic takes place against the neutral and timeless backdrop of my natural light (all white) Newborn and Baby photography studio.

Where is the Studio?

Located in the glorious Dandenong Ranges, less than 50km from the city of Melbourne (between Monbulk and Kallista) the studio is easily accessible from all suburbs (via the Eastern & Monash Freeways) and there is loads of onsite parking (as well as amazing coffee and cake at the bottom of the hill if you need it on the way home – yay).

What can I expect?

Sessions take less than an hour and allow plenty of time for snacks and cuddles.

All in all, we have a pretty nice time singing, playing and exploring the curtains (which are endlessly fascinating to small people).

With a big comfortable couch, in full view of the action, you can sit back and relax (unless bub gets sad in which case I’ll ask you to jump in and give them a cuddle). And while the focus is mostly on your baby I always try to capture a few moments with Mum too (because we can never have enough of those and some babes just need a little more love on the day).

Photographing these little people is my absolute HAPPY PLACE (I mean, just look at little Phoebe below). With their exploratory, engaging, smiley and fun nature they are the most enjoyable and fascinating subjects.

So if you’d like to know more about booking your own studio baby session, please get in touch.  I’d love to meet you.

Love Ingrid x
