When Mariya first contacted me about having her pregnancy photos taken, she was sooo excited. Most expectant Mumma's are. But this was different.
Like many Mumma's to be, booking a Maternity Photographer was high on her list of things to do when she found out that she was expecting a baby.
That is, until COVID struck and almost stole that dream away.
For so many soon-to-be parents across Melbourne, the lockdown experienced in March and April made it really difficult to plan anything at all. And the idea of being able to safely document such a highly time sensitive period, such as pregnancy, began to feel like a distant dream.
But then restrictions eased, and Mariya wasted no time in finding a photographer and locking in a date.
We decided on Ricketts Point in Beaumaris. And even though it was cold (think Melbourne winter and bayside breezes - brrr), Mariya was all kinds of magnificent.
You might even be mistaken into thinking that it was some kind of balmy evening in the tropics. It certainly wasn't though.
Later, as we wrapped things up we learned that Melbourne was going back into lockdown the very next day!
Sigh.
Oh well.
Thank goodness we had this small window of opportunity. And Mariya and Joel will forever have these precious memories. For them, and their soon to be new baby.
And when this second lockdown is over, we will all be overjoyed to add photos of the new kid to the collection too. I can't wait!
Get a feel for what different pregnancy sessions and photos might look like. Or simply get in touch to get the ball rolling.
The best time to schedule your pregnancy photos is between 32-38 weeks.
Love Ingrid xx
